It is 11:30am in Paris, France and 5:30am in America. We are at the airport getting ready to head to Sweden. It was a great day and a half in Paris and God has already suprised us with our schedule.
We landed Monday morning in Paris. The airport lost Matt’s luggage so we had to wait for them to find it. By the time they found the luggage the car we were suppose to take to the hotel had left because he had waited so long for us. So again we had to wait for the car to return. By the time we made it to the hotel we were exhausted, so we all took a nap.
We hooked up with Brendan White, the pastor from Hillsong Paris, for dinner. He introduced us to French food, snails and raw hamburger meat. Yes, I said raw. The meat has all sorts of herbs and spices and it is shaped like a hamburger, but it is just not cooked. We tried it and it was good. I probably won’t be cooking it at home, though.
Pastor Brendan told us Hillsong United was going to be in Paris Tuesday night, but they didn’t have any tickets left. No problem – we were going to explore Paris.
Tuesay we had to wake ourselves up, we are trying to get our bodies used to the time change. The First place we walked was the Arc de Triomphe. We climbed to the top of the structure and we could see for miles. Paris is a huge city. Then off to the Eiffel tower. WOW, what an amazing structure! Then we just walked the streets of Paris shopping and eating. About 5:00pm Pastor Brendan called to say they had tickets to Hillsong United. YAY!! So off we went to get ready for the concert. I told you we go to church wherever we are.
There were over 1000 people there. For Paris that is a huge miracle. God is moving!! From the first note of the worship service you could feel the presence of God. It was an amazing historical night and what an honor to be a part of it. I also felt like it was a night for us, getting us spiritually ready to go teach and encourage other believers in Sweden and India.
We were invited to go to the green room after the worship service. Can I just tell you Hillsong United is the same off stage as they are on stage? And the staff at Hillsong Paris is amazing! What a great surprise God gave us!!
Today I am really feeling the jet lag. Tired and my brain is a little foggy. So, I hope this blog is making sense. I am hoping for a nap on the plane. Sweden is in the same time zone as Paris so it should be getting easier and easier.
Please continue to pray – we can tell people are lifting us up in prayer.
Pray for continued safety, for clear thinking, that we would be an encouragement to those God sends us to minister to, and that God would direct our steps.
Off to Sweden,
